“It has been an absolute pleasure working with you in my time here Beth, your easy going and flexible attitude towards your work has been hugely appreciated.”

David Scoones, Marketing Consultant and Growth Strategist

I dove face-first into the world of communications as a youngster volunteering for arts festivals. I quickly found that my writing skills, storytelling abilities and crack-on-with-it attitude meant I was a perfect fit for the fast-paced world of festivals and events. It helps that I have a passion for music, art, literature and all things creative.

Living in Queenstown, New Zealand means I’ve also honed my skills for a wide range of industries. This includes media/magazines, tourism, medical and GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Arts, Museums).

I now work with businesses of all shapes and sizes to plan, write and manage their communications and content.

The key to clever communications

I’m a big believer in the need for a solid brand narrative. This story doesn’t have to be novel-length, but it should accurately describe your brand, its values and its unique selling point.

Once you know who you are and where you’re going, you can begin to build your brand voice. A voice that speaks to your ideal customers in a way that’s honest and effective.

The next step is ensuring your communication style is consistent and appropriate for your chosen channels.

A CEO's personal LinkedIn post will differ from a press release, but your messaging and goals should remain true to your brand.

Finally, you’ll need a plan and a content calendar. Seek out opportunities to speak to your audience at the right time, in the right places. Find a communications rhythm that makes sense and is achievable for you and your team.
